Marketing Info Session and Speaker

Are you interested in a career in Marketing or simply curious what a career in marketing would entail?  Join the Douglas College Business Association (DCBA) on Wednesday March 14th, as we hold our free Marketing Information Session.  The Chief Creative Officer and the Marketing Strategy Specialist from the advertising agency, Elliot+Rousseau will be on campus to talk about what their job entails, and how to obtain a job like theirs. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about what to do after graduation!

There will be free pizza and pop.

CMA Career Night 2012

Connect with CMAs and CMA candidates from a variety of industries at CMA’s annual Career Night Networking Gala. Over a three-course meal, students will have the opportunity to network with CMAs and CMA candidates and learn about their careers and their experience with the CMA program, as well as the many doors a professional management accounting designation has opened for them.

Gressels Biography:

Viola Gressel is a proud Certified Management Accountant and has been moderating the Strategic Leadership Program for the BC CMA for the past 15 years.  Moderating is a role which she thoroughly enjoys as it not only allows her to network with fellow CMAs, its also allowed her to recruit some of the “best and brightest”!

Vi currently works for the Department of Justice as the Regional Director, Corporate Services for the BC Regional Office. This role encompasses a number of diverse functional areas including those under the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer and the Director General, Administration Directorate.   Prior to working with the Department of Justice, and throughout her 26 years as a public servant, Vi has had the opportunity to work in a number of interesting and challenging roles, such as a Training and Development Officer for Customs and Excise, a Senior Financial Management Advisor for the Department of Fisheries & Oceans in Ottawa, and a Strategic Business Advisor for Small Craft Harbours a role that enabled her to view some of the more beautiful locations along the west coast of BC.

Vi is actively involved as a member of the Board of Directors for two Not-For-Profit Organizations -

- KidSport is an organization that enables “all kids to play” and

- Financial Management Institute of Canada, Vancouver Chapter, is an organization dedicated to delivering learning events, seminars, workshops and webinars with a focus on relevant and contemporary issues in financial management.

Vi was just recently awarded the Department of Justice Deputy Minister Leadership Award recognizing exceptional commitment and dedication to the Departments goals and priorities.

On a personal note, Vi is happily married, has two grown sons, a daughter-in-law, two wonderful grandchildren and a house full of pets!

CFA/CFP Information Session

There will be a CFA/CFP information session on Febuary 29,2012 at 4:30pm in the small lecture room 2201, across from the library.

There will also be a panel of speakers who either have the CFA designation or CFP designation to explain the difference and career choices for each.

Including:
