DCBA Award of Distinction

Purpose:

The DCBA Award of Distinction is one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed on a Douglas College Commerce and Business Student. This flow-through was created by the Marketing Student Society (MSS) in 2003 with the purpose of providing awards to students in the Marketing Management Program at Douglas College.  The Marketing Student Society was expanded into the Douglas College Business Association (DCBA) in 2009, and the Award monies were transferred to the new Association, with the purpose of providing awards to students in the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The Awarding Committee shall be comprised of:  the Dean of Commerce and Business Administration, President of the DCBA, Faculty Advisor to the DCBA, Chair of the department that offers the credential the applicant(s) are registered for, and 2-3 instructors who have taught the applicants and know them.  The Committee shall choose the recipient based on the criteria listed below.
  2. In order to be eligible: 
    1. Recipients must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.0
    2. Recipients must have contributed in a significant way to the College and to the DCBA
    3. Recipients must submit an application, and a letter indicating why they feel they should receive the award and show how they have contributed to their school.
